Anker Soundcore A3102 requires reset after charging?

Whenever I charge my Anker Soundcore A3102 and turn it on, it acts like it hasn’t been charged. The red low battery light remains on and checking the battery level for the speaker on my phone still shows only 20%. The only way I’ve been able to fix it has been to reset the Bluetooth on the speaker by holding down the Bluetooth button for several seconds. Is this normal for the speaker? Is there a way to fix this that might avoid having to process a warranty request (I received the speaker as a gift and it has been difficult trying to get the order number just to register it)?
